Week 6 & 2 days

We were able to see both of your little hearts beating (almost twice as fast as mine)!

I'm 6 weeks and 2 days. Growing like crazy, the Johnson BABIES are starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks, and chin. Those little hands and feet, still webbed like paddles, might wiggle by week's end, and blood is starting to circulate.

They are each now the size of a sweet pea!

Week 5 & 2 days...it's TWINS!

We had our first ultrasound today. The babies are so small that Dr. Davis could barely see either of them inside the yolk sac.

Did you catch the BABIES part? That's right --- it's TWINS! Our due date is October 21st.

Baby A Johnson and Baby B Johnson don't look like much more than a tadpole right now. They are actually starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive).

There's two to wash, there's two to dry
There's two to argue, there's two to cry
There's two to kiss, there's two to hug,
And best of all, there's two to love!

Baby A and Baby B are now the size of an appleseed!

Everything Changed on February 11, 2009

I had a feeling that I was pregnant, despite my past attempts at peeing on a stick and seeing a negative sign. I just felt different. It was just me and the pregnancy test. I pulled the test out, read the directions for the millionth time (not like this process is complicated), and sat down on the toilet to pee. Is it just me or are these things hard to pee on?

I decided that I was going to put the test on the floor for the three minutes it needed to process. Wouldn’t you know that the second I stopped peeing on the stick I immediately saw two lines and they were BRIGHT pink! I kept on going back to look at the pregnancy test thinking that one line would disappear, but this never happened.

Since pregnancy tests are only 99.9% accurate, I went into the doctor to have my blood drawn to confirm we are pregnant. My HCG (the pregnancy hormone) levels were at 204! Typically they're around 50-70 during your first days of pregnancy. Make no mistake, we are now 100% positive we're pregnant!
