Stealing Uncle Brad's Thunder...

It was only two days after Uncle Brad's birthday that Avigail and Deacon made their appearance into this world. Ever since, Brad has been trying to convince the Johnson side of the family that the kiddos birthday should really be celebrated in October since this is when they were originally due. The reason being...he will not have to "share" his birthday celebration. I hate to break it to you Brad, but Avi has once again stolen your thunder. She decided that while you celebrate your 1st wedding anniversary today, she was going to make it known that her two bottom teeth popped through!

Lets Get Our Toes Wet

We packed up Avi and Deacon today and headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Karr's for the kiddos first time in the pool. Avigail absolutely loved it! She quickly figured out that she could splash with both her hands and feet. Deacon on the other hand wasn't such a big fan. I think the water was a little too cold for his liking so he didn't last long.

Deacon's First Physical Therapy

Deacon had his first physical therapy appointment today and he did really well. The therapist was very pleased with what she saw. She was able to give us a few tips so we can work with Deacon on how to get in and out of the sitting position, work on getting him on his hands and knees so he will can start crawling and a few movements to help strengthen his core.

Deacon Attempts Cheerios

Avigail is more and more mobile every day. She is constantly rolling over, scootching backwards, turning herself around and getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. If you put her down in one spot, she'll always be in another spot when you return. We're just waiting to see her start crawling forward!

Deacon tried Cheerios this morning. This was his first attempt at a solid food that wasn't a puree. He tried picking them up right away and since everything goes to the mouth he knew just what to do! It took him a few minutes to chew them since he only has his two bottom teeth. It was pretty hilarious watching him chomp away!

Both of the kids have tried using their sippy cups. I'm sure it will be a "learn in progress", but at least they're interested in them.
