First Official Mother's Day

I never thought waking up at 6:45 a.m. on the weekend would be considered "sleeping in", but it actually is. Upon waking up, Tyler presented me with 4 cards. The first one was from Tank and Dakota. The second from Deacon and the third from Avigail. Avigail's card included an apology..."sorry for the whole foot in the cervix thing last year". And the last card was from Tyler. It said to go hop in the shower and get ready because we were going to have brunch at the Salish lodge. This place is pretty special to us since it's where we got engaged. We have gone up there every year to celebrate our anniversary, but with having the twins it wasn't as easy to just get away.

Side note to the story - Gramma and Grampa Johnson were going to come babysit the kids while we escaped for a couple of hours. Of course I insisted on being with the twins on Mother's Day so we had to cancel with Gramma and Grampa. I think they were a little disappointed as they love spending time with the grand kids. I assured them that they could come over any other morning to watch the kids :-).

We had a great brunch and then headed to Kim and Brad's to celebrate with the Johnson's. One doesn't truly understand the meaning of Mother's Day until you actually are a mother. It will goes down as a another memorable first.
